This French table clock is very beautiful and was made around 1844-1849. On top of a beautifully decorated base is standing a famous Dutch painter, namely Rembrandt van Rijn. He is very famous for creating some of the most beautiful portrets and still lives around. The female figurine opposite to him is what seems his muse. He is painting her in a very lovingly way, which makes this overall piece very romantic to look at. This item is in short not merely a functional purpose, but also a very aesthetic and artistic one. Stunning to look at and will turn any room into an interesting one. Because of its elegantly shaped forms and decorations it is also very easily adaptable in any room interior. This beautiful item has been fully checked and oiled by a professional clockmaker, and works perfectly. It has the original French movement, that chimes every half and full hour. The movement has an original beautiful stamp, showing the brand of this clock 'Japy Freres.' It further says:"Medaille d'or, années" This is a famous clockmaker from France. Japy is one of the most famous French clock makers from that time. It is complete, with the winding key, bell, pendulum etc. It works the way it should. The clock is sturdy and ready for usage at any given time, and is to be beautifully portrayed in any mantle.
