An exceptional pair of French Louis XVI wall sconces dating to circa 1860, finely crafted in solid bronze with their original fire-gilded ormolu finish and elegant cream silk shades.

These mid-19th-century sconces display the refined symmetry and classical ornamentation associated with Louis XVI design. Each piece is richly decorated with finely cast floral garlands, flowing foliage and neoclassical details, complemented by subtle eagle motifs that add architectural character and visual depth.

The original 24-carat fire-gilded bronze finish has been carefully preserved and professionally cleaned. Its warm golden tone retains an attractive natural patina developed over more than 160 years, beautifully highlighting the intricate casting and sculptural detailing.

Each sconce is fitted with two candle-style light points and elegant cream silk shades, creating a soft and atmospheric light while maintaining the sophisticated appearance of the original design.

The sconces have been professionally rewired for modern use and accommodate E14 bulbs. Bulbs are not included.
