An exquisite circa 1860s French Sèvres porcelain jewelry box from the Napoleon III / Second Empire period, richly decorated in the Rococo Revival style. The sculptural box features a deep cobalt-blue ground, elaborate raised gilding, hand-painted romantic scenes and decorative metal mounts.
The scalloped bombé-form body is finished with intricate gilt scrollwork, floral motifs and ornamental borders. A large pastoral scene with elegantly dressed figures decorates the lid, while smaller hand-painted landscape reserves appear around the sides, each framed by detailed gilt cartouches.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a cream-white glazed porcelain interior with natural age-related craquelure. The box retains its decorative metal clasp and bears a painted Sèvres mark to the underside.
A highly decorative example of 19th-century French porcelain, ideal as a jewelry or keepsake box and equally striking displayed on a dressing table, console, mantel or in a collection.

Very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its circa 1860s date. Natural craquelure is visible to the glazed interior, together with a small chip along the interior rim, as shown in the photographs. The cobalt-blue exterior remains vibrant, and the painted scenes and extensive gilding retain a strong decorative appearance.
No major structural repairs or later repainting have been observed.
