An elegant antique French Louis XVI–style commode dating to circa 1900, beautifully crafted with fine fruitwood marquetry, gilt bronze mounts and an original Italian pink marble top.
The commode reflects the refined symmetry and classical proportions associated with Louis XVI design. Its warm-toned wooden body is richly decorated with hand-inlaid fruitwood marquetry, creating delicate floral and geometric patterns across the drawer fronts and sides.
Decorative gilt bronze mounts enhance the architectural character of the piece. Finely cast bronze handles, escutcheons, corner details and sabots contrast beautifully with the warm aged patina of the wood.
The commode is crowned by a shaped Italian pink marble top with natural rose and cream veining, providing an elegant decorative surface while complementing the bronze and marquetry below.
Two generously sized full-width drawers provide practical storage. The drawers retain their original-style locks and working key.
