Mid 19th Century Silver Set.

This is an antique 19th century French set of knives.

Both the handles as well as the knife part itself from all knifes have separate stamps on them.
They are decorated both on the front as well as on the back side. The handles are real silver. They were professionally cleaned recently.

This set consists of 22 Bigger knives and 12 Smaller knives.

The bigger knifes are 25 cm tall and 2.5 cm wide. The size in inch is about: 9.5 x 1 inch.
The smaller knifes are 21.5 cm tall and 2 cm wide. This is in inch about 8.5 x 1 inch.

This set is quite unique in that it is very luxuriously decorated and that it is complete and in a good condition.

Each knife has three different stamps on it, one of them stating that the cutting part of the knife was made in the ‘Fonderie’ in the Hague, in the Netherlands. The large W on the hand-held silver part of the knives have beautifully engraved W’s in them, suggesting that this set might well have been intended as a gift to someone who’s name starts with the W.
