A breathtaking beautiful antique French Sevre vase. It can also be used as centre piece.
Made of porcelain with bronze in the 19th century in France.
A big model that has beautiful hand painted images from the 19th century on the front and the back. The front of of the vase shows an image of a young man kissing a woman full of passion. Both are wearing clothes that are typical from the 19th century.The couple is surrounded by two cupids that are holding a plaque where is written in French:
" Serment je l'aime de toute ma vie" which means something like " Oath: I love him with all my life"

At the back of the vase we see a beautiful detailed landscape.
The vase is made of good quality Serve porcelain, and is in very good condition for its age (1860-1880) . It stands on a foot that is made of beautiful moulded solid heavy bronze that has the original patine colour from that time.. The top of the vase has a crown made of moulded bronze that has also the original patine colour from that time.. The gold decorations that are handpainted with a several layers of gold. Under the crown there is a breathtaking beautiful handpainted basket of flowers which makes it even more special.
The image is signed. It says: Polyet , aprés Fragonard , which means : after Fragonard
Fragonard was a famous painter that lived in France . He was born in 1732 and he died in 1806. He was famous of making these kind of images. Typically French. These images are very famous nowadays and are copied on furniture, vases etc. His work is exposed nowadays in the museum Louvre in Paris, Wallace collection in London and National gallery of Art in Washington.
