Antique Bronze French Clock Table/Mantel Set 1860

This is a beautiful antique French Louis XVI table/mantle clock pendulum. It was made from gilded bronze, in about 1860-1880. It has a white enamel dial plate with numerals and works and chimes perfectly. Everything was checked and cleaned by professional clock makers. It still has its original authentic gilded bronze work, it has only been cleaned. It is 24 carat gold, fire gilded bronze and looks like a jewel. It comes complete with the rewinding key, bell. It has a balance hourwork. It chimes every half and full hour.
The lady figure has a signature on the back of the bronze (encircled in blue on one of the photos).
This clock is uniquely beautiful in that it combines true creative artistry with conventional figurine aesthetics. It has a multi-layered base, decorated with typically French ornaments and a beautiful bird. The lady figure is laying down on a bed with blankets and a pillow and above her a big bird seems to be flying and protecting over her in very vividly lively manner. The details on both the figures above the clock as well as the details on the candelabras really show the creator’s mastery of their craft. We bought this clock in Bordeaux, France. It is a truly eye-catching piece that, when put on for example a mantle or a dressoir, will capture anyone’s attention.
