This is a big table piece, a clock with hand-painted figurine on enamel. It is from about 1860 and was made from fire gilded 24 carat bronze, alabaster and enamel. The enamel plaquette was placed onto an alabaster background, and surrounded by the beautiful gilded bronze decoration framing. The backside of this item was made from beautifully finished gilded bronze too, including the stand which supports it. It has a 8-day spring-driven hour work with anchor escapement.

The movement can be rewinded with a key, the key comes with this item. This is a true eye-catcher in any room, it looks like a true jewel. It was thoroughly and professionally cleaned as well and it is a very authentically antique and special piece. It is in a very good condition, as you can see in the photo. The painting on the enamel was signed by L. Coblentz. It was signed by the maker on the bottom left corner of the enamel. This item is of a heavy quality.

The enamel plaquette hand-painted painting is of an exceptionally high quality. It is very beautiful and truly shows the quality and skill of its maker. The way in which the fabric of the dress is almost translucently painted, against the bright blue colour of the drapery on the right, along with the lively way in which the hair of the figurine flows in the air—all stunning details of this beautiful piece that make it a true eye-catcher. It looks as though the figurine was holding the moon.

The decorative ornaments in gilded bronze are of a very fine and high quality too, and typically French in the Louis XVI style.
