A beautiful French Louis XVI table / mantle clock. Made around 1860-1880 from very heavy high quality bronze.
The clock shows three putty. The putty on the top is carrying a wine chalice that he is holding in the air. He is sitting on a pedestals that is fully grown with grapes. The pedestals is richly decorated with very fine details such as grapes and grape branch. We also find beautiful shaped garlands there. When we who further down we find two other putties. Each putty on a side of the pedestal. These two putties are picking grapes from the branches and they give it to the putty that is on the top.
Between the two lower putties we find the case of the clock. In the case we find a 8-day spring movement with an enamel dial. The numerals on the dial are Latin numbers and the movement has beautiful shade and decorated bronze hands. The movement strikes every and whole hour. It comes complete with winding key, pendulum and bell.
Above the clock case we find two birds that are fighting because they both want to pick and eat grapes also.
When we look around the case we find more grapes and we find beautiful decorations . We also find that the clock stands on 4 lion feet shaped legs. The clock stands very sturdy on these legs because it is very heavy.

The measurements of the clock are about:
CM: 60 cm high x 45 cm wide x 13 cm deep.
INCH: 23.5 inch high x 18 inch wide x 5 inch deep.

The clock has not been cleaned. What you see is the original ormolu gilt.
The movement has been cleaned, checked and oiled a couple of months ago by a professional clock maker.
The clock is in working order and for its age is is in perfect condition.
Of course it has some marks of aging but that is normal for a clock this age.
