Mid-20th Century French Louis XVI Bronze & Crystal Chandelier
An exceptional mid-20th-century French Louis XVI–style chandelier, combining impressive scale, sculptural bronze decoration and hundreds of sparkling faceted crystals.
Artisan-crafted in France, this substantial chandelier has a classical basket-form silhouette with six elegantly curved bronze arms. Its large proportions and richly detailed construction make it an impressive focal point for a grand entrance hall, staircase, salon, formal dining room or other interior with high ceilings.
Solid Bronze Frame & Three Putti Figures
The chandelier is constructed from solid bronze with a warm antique-gold finish and naturally aged patina.
One of its most distinctive features is the presence of three sculptural putti figures in contrasting dark bronze. Each putto is positioned between two of the six outer arms, creating a balanced arrangement around the chandelier.
The darker bronze figures provide beautiful contrast against the antique-gold framework and clear crystal decoration, giving the chandelier an especially sculptural and architectural character.
Cascading Crystal Decoration
Hundreds of faceted clear crystal beads are arranged throughout the chandelier in graceful cascading garlands.
The crystals beautifully catch and reflect the light, producing an elegant sparkle while emphasizing the symmetry and refined proportions associated with Louis XVI design.
The basket is also illuminated from within, allowing the crystal decoration to glow from both the exterior and interior when the chandelier is switched on.
