Beautiful French table/ mantle clock in Louis XVI style.
A beautiful piece of art in alloy made in the 19th century, approximately 1860. It shows a lady in typical French clothes for that time. She wears a very detailed basket with fruit on her head. Next to her there is her older daughter who is holding her little brother our sister on her shoulder so the baby can look at mama and gives her a kiss. All three personages are made very find with breathtaking beautiful details.
The figures are standing on a round plateau of alloy that makes it look like the figures are walking down the path. The circle shape where they stand on rests on the clock base, also made of alloy. The middle piece with the clock in it is squared and decorated with beautiful garlands. The timepiece has an enamel dial with Roman numbers and it is surrounded by a circle of alloy pearls.
The figurines are made after the style of Auguste Moreau.
The figures can be removed from the clock. This is the original way these clocks are build.
The middle part is ending at the left and the right side in decorated sides that stands on 4 legs in total.
Below the middle part of the clock you see another beautiful piece of alloy decoration. It is a plateau that makes that the clock stands very sturdy.
This clock is in good condition, has some marks of use , checked by a clockmaker. The pendulum and the winding key are present.
It strikes every half and whole hour.
The gild is the original Gild layer. We did not clean it, it is original.
The measurements are about:
CM : 71 cm high x 39 cm wide x 17 cm deep
INCH: 28 inch high x 15 inch wide x 7 inch deep
